By registering to participate in The Golden Key Hunt (“the Hunt”), you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. HOW THE HUNT WORKS
Golden Key Hunts are real-world treasure hunts organized by Lifestyle Evolutions. Participants receive clues via email, text, or through bonus clue stops, and search public areas to find the Golden Key. Once found, the participant must report the discovery via the provided instructions to claim the prize. Once the key has been found via the provided instructions, all participants are notified via email, and the hunt for that key officially concludes.
2. ELIGIBILITY & REGISTRATION
Participants must be at least 21 years of age to participate and to be eligible to claim any prizes. Registration must be completed through the official Golden Key Hunt website or through approved and authorized official social media or marketing channels managed by Lifestyle Evolutions LLC. Only registered participants will be eligible to receive clues, claim prizes, and be recognized as winners. Participants may only be registered for one active Hunt at a time, unless paid access to additional hunt(s) becomes available. Once registered, they will receive clues and be eligible to win prizes for the specific Hunt they are registered in only. Participants may not switch Hunts for at least thirty (30) days following registration. Participants must email info@lifestylevolutions.com to submit a request to switch their Hunt.
It is the responsibility of the registered participant to submit accurate contact information, including a valid email address and phone number, and to answer all questions on the registration form truthfully. Participants must monitor their registered email account and are responsible for checking spam or filtered folders. If a participant is not receiving communications, it is their responsibility to contact Lifestyle Evolutions LLC for assistance. Participants are also responsible for reviewing all FAQs, Rules, and “How the Game Works” materials provided on the official website. Lifestyle Evolutions LLC is available during posted business hours for clarification and questions.
To be eligible to claim the Key associated with a specific Hunt, a participant must have been officially registered for that Hunt for a minimum of seven (7) consecutive days prior to initiating a claim.
Any Key discovered prior to the official Hunt start date and time is not eligible for a valid claim. Lifestyle Evolutions LLC reserves the right to relocate, reset, or replace any Key discovered prior to the official Hunt start.
Understanding of Risk.
By participating, the participant acknowledges and accepts the risk that they may locate a Key before completing the required seven (7) days of registration and may therefore be ineligible to claim it at that time. If another participant who has satisfied the seven-day registration requirement completes a valid claim before the original finder becomes eligible, the original finder forfeits any right to the Key and will not receive a refund of any fees paid to enter the Hunt.
Prize Eligibility Based on Registration Type.
Participants understand that prize amounts may differ depending on whether they entered the Hunt as a paid participant (eligible for the uncapped prize amount) or an unpaid/basic participant (eligible for a lower, capped prize amount).
Claim Process and Determination of Winner.
A Key is considered officially claimed only when a participant has successfully completed the full claim process as determined by Lifestyle Evolutions LLC. The winner of any Hunt is the first participant who completes the claim process while meeting all eligibility requirements at that time. Locating or reporting a Key alone does not constitute a valid claim and does not guarantee any prize.
Non-Transferability and Identity Requirement.
The claim to a Key is strictly non-transferable. The individual who discovers and reports the Key must be the same individual who completes the claim process. Participants may not assign, transfer, share, or otherwise allow another individual to claim a Key on their behalf. Any attempt to do so may result in disqualification. Lifestyle Evolutions LLC reserves the right to verify the identity of the participant and their presence at the time of discovery and claim.
Claim Timing and Immediate Decision Requirement.
At the time a participant reports a Key, their eligibility will be evaluated based on their registration status at that exact time. If the participant is eligible to claim a prize, they must proceed immediately with the claim process when prompted. If the participant declines, delays, or fails to complete the claim process at that time, the Key will remain unclaimed and available to other participants. Lifestyle Evolutions LLC reserves the right to determine what constitutes a delay or failure to complete the claim process.
Paid vs. Unpaid Participant Claim Rules.
If a participant who is not registered for the uncapped prize amount locates a Key, they will have the following options at the time of claim:
(1) Claim the prize associated with their current registration tier, which will immediately conclude their participation for that Key; or
(2) Decline to claim the Key at that time.
If the participant declines to claim the Key, they may choose to upgrade to the paid tier; however, eligibility for the uncapped prize becomes active only after completing the required seven (7) consecutive days following the upgrade. During this waiting period, the Key remains available to all other eligible participants. If another participant completes a valid claim during this time, the original finder forfeits all rights to the Key and any associated prize. No refunds will be issued.
Unclaimed Funds.
Participants understand and agree that any portion of a prize pool or prize amount that is not awarded or claimed, whether because a participant was not eligible for an uncapped prize amount, failed to meet registration requirements, declined to complete the claim process, or for any other reason permitted under these rules, shall be considered unclaimed funds.
All unclaimed funds remain the sole property of Lifestyle Evolutions LLC and may be used, allocated, or distributed at its sole discretion, including, without limitation:
(a) Reinvesting in future Hunts, events, or community experiences; and/or
(b) Making donations to one or more nonprofit or charitable partners selected by Lifestyle Evolutions LLC.
Participants acknowledge that they do not acquire any right, title, or interest in any unclaimed funds and that no refunds, credits, or substitutions will be issued in connection with such amounts.
No Purchase Necessary
No purchase or payment is required to participate in The Golden Key Hunt or to locate the Golden Key. A purchase will not increase a participant’s chances of finding the Key.
All participants, regardless of payment status, are eligible to fully participate in the Hunt and compete to locate the Golden Key.
Clue Access and Release
While in-person bonus clue experiences may be subject to availability, all clues necessary to complete the Hunt will also be distributed through official channels to ensure access for all participants.
Certain clues or experiences may be offered earlier through optional paid experiences, in-person events, or partner promotions. These early-access opportunities are provided for entertainment and convenience only and are not required to participate in or complete the Hunt. Location-based clues are optional experiential elements and are not required to successfully complete the Hunt. Participants may rely on alternative clues and information released through official channels. Early access to any clue is provided for experience and engagement purposes only and is not intended to provide, and should not reasonably be expected to provide, a material competitive advantage in locating the Golden Key.
Any clues released through paid or promotional channels will also be made available to all participants within a reasonable timeframe at no cost.
No single clue or early-access opportunity is intended to independently determine the outcome of the Hunt.
Base Prize and Optional Bonus (Vault)
The Golden Key Hunt offers a standard prize of $3,000 (the “Base Prize”), which is available to any participant who successfully locates the Golden Key, regardless of whether they have made any purchase.
In addition to the Base Prize, an optional bonus prize pool (the “Vault”) may be made available to participants who choose to engage in certain paid experiences, upgrades, or promotional offerings.
Eligibility for the Vault is separate from participation in the Hunt itself and is not required to locate the Golden Key or win the Base Prize.
Participation in any paid offering does not increase a participant’s chances of locating the Golden Key and does not provide exclusive access to required clues.
The Vault is a supplemental promotional feature and represents an additional reward opportunity, not the primary prize of the Hunt.
2A. MINORS AND PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
While all registered participants must be at least 21 years of age, it is understood that some participants may involve others in their search including but not limited to children, minors, or other dependents. In such cases, the registered adult participant accepts full responsibility for the actions, conduct, and safety of any minors involved on their behalf. We are not obligated to communicate with or assist any underage, unregistered participants, and expect you to communicate with us(including Golden Guides) on the behalf of any others involved in your search. Any misconduct by a minor — including but not limited to trespassing, harassment, or breaking any rules outlined in this agreement — will be treated as a violation by the registered participant and may result in disqualification or banning from future events.
2B. HUNTERS PASS VERIFICATION AND SPONSOR DISCRETION
Participants may be required to present their Hunters Pass when visiting bonus clue stop locations to receive a clue. Staff at bonus clue stop locations are permitted to verify that the individual presenting the pass is 21 years of age or older and matches the registered name associated with the pass. Staff at these locations are under no obligation to provide a clue to anyone who does not meet these verification requirements. This protects both the integrity of the Hunt and the business’s right to ensure they are interacting with legitimate adult participants.
Bonus clue stop location businesses are not permitted to require any purchase, trade, or exchange in order to release a clue, except in the case of clearly disclosed early-access promotional experiences. In such cases, any clue made available through a paid or promotional experience will also be made available to all participants at no cost through official Hunt channels within a reasonable timeframe. Participation in any paid early-access experience is optional and does not increase a participant’s likelihood of successfully locating the Golden Key.
Bonus clue stop locations may utilize an online booking system to manage participant access and ensure an organized and fair experience. Participants are responsible for reserving an available time slot, when applicable, in accordance with the procedures set by the bonus clue stop location.
All participants will have a reasonable opportunity to access bonus clue stop availability during the active Hunt period. Access to a clue is granted upon successful check-in during a valid booking or during designated walk-in availability, if offered.
Participants may not demand or expect access to a clue outside of regular business hours or during scheduled availability.
No participant is required to visit any bonus clue location to successfully complete the Hunt. Alternative clues and information will be made available through official Hunt channels.
It is the participant’s responsibility to capture and retain any bonus clue obtained during their visit.
3. PRIZE AVAILABILITY AND DISCLAIMERS
Prize availability is subject to the continued participation of our sponsors. If any sponsor withdraws, we do not guarantee the availability or awarding of their prize contribution. The live prize pool value will be posted and maintained on the official website. While we strive to keep this information accurate and current, the actual prize received by the winner may differ from what is listed at the time due to last-minute sponsorship changes or prize substitutions. In the event of a tie or dispute over the discovery of the Golden Key, Lifestyle Evolutions LLC will review all available evidence and make a final determination at its sole discretion. In the event the Golden Key is discovered, tampered with, or removed by a non-participant, Lifestyle Evolutions LLC reserves the right to delay, adjust, or restart the Hunt at its sole discretion. Lifestyle Evolutions LLC shall not be held liable for any disruptions, delays, or dissatisfaction caused by such interference. In order to receive the prize, the Hunter who finds the key will need to submit a W-9 form, and receive a 1099, as such prize will be reported for tax purposes. If necessary, they may also be asked to show a picture of their valid License/ID.
Additional Keys and Hunt Continuation
Lifestyle Evolutions reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to introduce additional Golden Keys, prizes, or continuation phases of the Hunt. This may include, but is not limited to, relaunching the Hunt with new clues, activating additional keys, or extending participant engagement following the successful discovery of an initial Golden Key.
In the event that a Golden Key is located earlier than anticipated, Lifestyle Evolutions may initiate a subsequent phase of the Hunt. Any such phase will be considered a separate continuation or extension and will not alter, replace, or diminish the validity of any prize already awarded to a participant who successfully located a prior Golden Key.
The introduction of additional keys, prizes, or Hunt phases is intended to enhance the overall participant experience and support sponsor engagement. Participation in any additional or subsequent Hunt phase may be subject to new or updated conditions, timelines, or eligibility requirements, which will be communicated through official Hunt channels.
Participants acknowledge that the Hunt may evolve over time and that additional opportunities to participate may be offered without impacting the integrity or outcome of any previously completed phase.
Lifestyle Evolutions reserves the right to determine the structure, timing, eligibility, and availability of any continuation phase at its sole discretion.
4. CODE OF CONDUCT
All participants must conduct themselves with integrity and respect toward others. Any participant found to be engaging in stalking, harassment, intimidation, trespassing, destruction of property, or any other misconduct may be immediately disqualified and may be permanently banned from participating in future Golden Key Hunt events. Publicly posting clues, collaborating in large groups that compromise fairness, or using third-party resources that distort the spirit of the game may also result in disqualification.
Any retaliation, threat, or attempt to intimidate Lifestyle Evolutions LLC, its representatives, or its sponsors as a result of decisions made during the Hunt will result in immediate disqualification and may lead to permanent exclusion from all future events. Lifestyle Evolutions LLC reserves the right to pursue legal action in response to any such conduct that is deemed harassing, defamatory, or harmful.
Participants and winners agree not to disclose the final key location, clues, pictures of the key, or clue-solving strategies to the public or other participants unless and until such details are officially released by Lifestyle Evolutions LLC. This is to preserve the integrity and fairness of ongoing and future Hunts. Lifestyle Evolutions LLC reserves the right to share or withhold these details at its sole discretion. In the event the Hunter who finds the key breaches this section, we reserve the right to ban the Hunter from future events and/or disqualify them from the winnings.
Once a Key has been found or an event has concluded, Lifestyle Evolutions is under no obligation to disclose the appearance of the Key, its location, or provide detailed explanations of how the clues related to it. Participants acknowledge and agree that they are not entitled to this information. This policy is in place to protect the integrity of the game and to preserve the strategies and design of future hunts.
Lifestyle Evolutions may publicly confirm that a Golden Key has been found and may share limited information regarding the outcome of the Hunt.
Additional details, including specific clue breakdowns, exact locations, and behind-the-scenes insights, may be reserved for optional post-Hunt events, experiences, or content. Participation in such events may require a separate purchase or registration and is entirely optional.
These post-Hunt experiences are provided for entertainment, community engagement, and storytelling purposes only and are not required to participate in the Hunt, understand the general outcome, or validate the legitimacy of any winning claim.
5. SAFETY AND RESPONSIBILITY
Participants are solely responsible for their actions and the actions of others assisting them during the Hunt. By participating, you acknowledge and agree that Lifestyle Evolutions LLC is not responsible or liable for any accidents, injuries, damages, arrests, deaths, or legal issues that may occur during your participation. You agree to comply with all local laws and ordinances and to prioritize your safety and the safety of others.
6. OPEN HOUSE CLUE ETIQUETTE:
Some clues in The Golden Key Hunt may be placed at homes listed for sale and hosting public open houses. These events are open to the general public, and participants are welcome to attend. However, if you are only seeking the clue, it will be located outside in a clearly visible spot and does not require entering the home. We ask that all participants be respectful of the property, the agent, and any active buyers touring the home. Anyone entering the home should be doing so as a potential buyer or referral source, not solely as part of the game. Kids must not enter any home without the registered individual/guardian. Any behavior deemed inappropriate, disruptive, or unsafe — as determined at our sole discretion — may result in immediate disqualification from the Hunt. If a hosting agent raises concern about a participants behavior or presence, we reserve the right to disqualify or remove that individual from future Hunt activities.
7. NO GUARANTEE OF WINNINGS
Participation in the Hunt does not guarantee the awarding of any prizes. Clues, timelines, and prize distribution are subject to change based on sponsor involvement and unforeseen circumstances.
8. PARTICIPATION LEVELS
Hunts are offered in both free and optional paid versions. The free version is always available but may have prize pool caps. Paid versions may offer access to increased prize values or bonus content. All hunts remain skill-based, and paid participation does not guarantee success or advantage in solving clues. Additional details about paid participation will be disclosed if such an option is introduced.
9. FRAUDULENT PARTICIPATION AND CLUE ABUSE
Any falsification of registration information or misuse of a Hunters Pass, including impersonation, duplication, or use of a pass not assigned to the participant, will result in immediate disqualification. Attempts to share or mass distribute clues in a way that harms the fairness of the Hunt are strictly prohibited.
To ensure fairness and preserve the spirit of the hunt, the use of any special detection devices or equipment; including, but not limited to, drones, is strictly prohibited in all hunts involving the Golden Key and/or Silver Key, unless explicitly stated otherwise for a specific hunt.
Should it be determined that prohibited technology was used in any way to locate or aid in locating a key, Lifestyle Evolutions reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify and ban the participant(s) involved from the current hunt and all future hunts. In such cases, Lifestyle Evolutions may also choose to pause, end, or restart the hunt, or relocate the key to preserve the integrity of the event.
In the rare case that a hunt permits the use of drones, participants are only allowed to operate them for that designated hunt. If, during such participation, a drone operator observes or captures the location of any key from a hunt where drones are not permitted, they must not disclose or act upon that information. Doing so will result in disqualification and ineligibility for any related prizes.
10. MEDIA & PUBLICITY RELEASE
By participating, you grant Lifestyle Evolutions LLC the right to use your name, likeness, and photographs or video taken during the Hunt for marketing, promotional, and publicity purposes across all media channels. You also agree to receiving SMS text messages from Lifestyle Evolutions.
11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All clues, branding, logos, and related materials are the intellectual property of Lifestyle Evolutions LLC
and may not be reproduced, copied, or distributed without written permission.
12. AGREEMENT CHANGES
Lifestyle Evolutions LLC reserves the right to modify or update these terms at any time. It is the responsibility of the participant to stay informed by reviewing the official website or approved communications.
13. TERMINATION OF PARTICIPATION
Lifestyle Evolutions LLC reserves the right to remove or disqualify any participant at its sole discretion if any behavior or action undermines the integrity or safety of the Hunt or violates the terms of this agreement. All decisions made by Lifestyle Evolutions LLC are final.
14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lifestyle Evolutions LLC, its affiliates, sponsors, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from participation in the Golden Key Hunt, including but not limited to loss of potential earnings, emotional distress, reputational damage, or death. In no event shall Lifestyle Evolutions LLC’s total liability exceed the actual amount paid by the participant to register for the Hunt.
By submitting your registration, you confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to this Participant Agreement. You acknowledge that your participation is voluntary and at your own risk.
15. Forest Preserve Search Area Clause
Permitted Search Areas.
Participants understand and agree that the search area for the Key they are hunting includes:
All publicly accessible forest preserves located within the stated town, and
All publicly accessible forest preserves that share a border with, touch, or directly meet the stated town’s official city limit boundaries, even if such preserves extend outside the town itself.
All of these areas are collectively defined as “Fair Play Zones” for the purpose of the Hunt. Unless otherwise specified in the official rules, any Fair Play Zone is eligible for search. Participants are responsible for remaining only in areas open to the public and must comply with all posted regulations and applicable laws while searching.
16. PRIZE LIMITS
Each family, team, group, individual, or otherwise collaborative party working together in the hunt is subject to claiming one key prize per hunt season. Separate teams forming strategic alliances may also be considered one collaborative party working together. Though the person claiming the prize must be the registered participant, this individual may represent a larger collaborative group, including other registered individuals. We do this to preserve the intentions and integrity of the hunt.
There are currently 2 hunt seasons under this definition and they are from April-July and August-November.
17. Golden Key Ticket
By signing up to receive your Golden Key Ticket, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
Registration and Future Hunts
Your Golden Key Ticket confirms your subscription to official Golden Key Hunt communications. While this ticket secures your eligibility for potential future offerings, you may still be required to complete an additional registration process once the next hunt location is announced.Nature of the Ticket
The Golden Key Ticket serves as a record of your participation and potential eligibility for exclusive opportunities or rewards in a future Golden Key Hunt. It is not an entry pass for the next hunt itself.Non-Transferability and Limitations
Only one (1) Golden Key Ticket will be issued per person.
Tickets are non-transferable and may only be redeemed by the individual to whom they were originally issued.
Any attempt to sell, trade, or transfer a ticket will render it void.
Value and Redemption
At this time, the Golden Key Ticket holds no monetary or redeemable value. Any future value or benefit associated with the ticket will be determined and announced at a later date, at the sole discretion of The Golden Key Hunt organizers.Expiration
Each Golden Key Ticket will expire on April 8th, 2026, or one (1) week after the next Golden Key Hunt officially begins — whichever occurs first. After expiration, the ticket will no longer be valid or eligible for any future redemption or benefits.Conversion to Official Hunt Registration
The Golden Key Hunt reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to convert any active Golden Key Ticket registration into an official Golden Key Hunt registration. In such cases, your registration may be automatically assigned to a default hunt location once the next hunt is announced.
Should your Golden Key Ticket registration be converted on your behalf, you agree to abide by all terms outlined in this Participation Agreement as they relate to official Golden Key Hunt participation, registration, and conduct.Record Keeping
The Golden Key Hunt team will maintain a record of all verified Golden Key Ticket holders. Eligibility for any future rewards or participation opportunities will be confirmed using this record.- Lifestyle Evolutions LLC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to remove, void, disqualify, or deny participation to any individual for any reason, including but not limited to behavior, safety concerns, rule violations, or actions that jeopardize the integrity of the hunt. In the event it an individual is removed, they will receive a refund for the amount they spent on the ticket, if anything, and not what it’s value might be.
By obtaining your Golden Key Ticket, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the above terms.
